The Kitsap Mounted Posse (KMP) is an association of persons desiring to further the interests of good horsemanship and fellowship among its members, promoting good will and community service activities.
The KMP is a non-profit charitable organization that serves Kitsap County and the surrounding communities. Incorporated in 1957, KMP has supported the county through participation in Corey's Day on the Farm, Wounded Warrior, local food banks, Retsil Veterans Home, Thunderbird Rodeo, Western Washington Special Olympics, and many other local events in the community and across the state. The KMP has been a favorite at many local parades and received an award for the best equestrian unit at the Bremerton Armed Forces Parade in 2010.
As horse owners, we enjoy the company and camaraderie of others who share a common interest in the fun and adventure of equestrian sports and horseback riding. There are some new and exciting changes to the KMP and not just a name and uniform change. This fun and family oriented community service organization has a host of new activities including:
- Equestrian Poker and Trail rides
- Camping, picnics and social outings
- Fun day activities
- Cowboy Mounted Shooting Clinics
- Gaming events
- Grand Entry at rodeo events
So come on out and meet some new friends and reacquaint yourself with some old friends at our next gathering, meeting or activity. We meet at Silver Spurs club house across from the Kitsap Fairgrounds on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. For more information, call Bob Battin at 360-830-9510, or see the schedule of events on this website.
